Professional Background

Before training as a counsellor, I worked in education for over 30 years, gaining personal insight into the pressures, expectations, and emotional demands teachers often face. During this time, I regularly supported adults and young people in a one‑to‑one capacity, often around personal, emotional, and wellbeing‑related concerns. This experience continues to inform my counselling practice, particularly in areas such as:

  • relationship and family dynamics

  • stress, anxiety, overwhelm, and burnout

  • identity and self‑esteem

  • supporting parents/carers

  • my commitment to ethical practice and equality, diversity and inclusion
